Governing Body Key Information
The Governing Body comprises 9 members and is made up of 5 types of Governor:
One Local Authority appointed representative: Mrs. J. Clibbens (2015-2019)
Four Parent Governors (elected by the parents): Mrs. S. Hollier (2015-2019), Mrs. R. Jenkinson (2015-2019), Mrs H Hunter and currently 1 vacancy
The Headteacher: Mr. H. McCarthey
One Staff Governor (chosen by consent among the staff): Mr R Charnock (2017 – 2019)
Two Co-Opted Governors (who are chosen by the members of the Governing Body):
- Mrs C Richman
- Mrs P Roberts
One Associate Member: Mr I Grice (Assistant Headteacher)
- Mrs R Jenkinson is the Chair
- Mrs S Hollier is the Vice Chair
- Mrs H Evans is the Clerk to the Governors.
- Each governor serves a term of office of four years but may serve for longer if they are re-elected/re-appointed.
Governing Body Committees are as follows:
All governors sit on all committees with the exception of any committee in which an appeal may be heard. These committees are drawn together as required.
We have governors who have specific responsibilities for certain areas:
- Special Educational Needs (Mrs. Roberts)
- Child Protection/Safeguarding (Mrs Richman)
- Health and Safety (Mrs Hollier).
Governors are encouraged to visit the school on a regular basis to take part in assemblies, School Council meetings and classroom activities so that they become familiar with the day to day workings of the school as well as attending their committee meetings. They are held accountable to Ofsted for their strategic role in school.

The Register of Business Interests currently shows no business interests.
Mr McCarthey’s wife is currently employed as SENCo at the School.
Mr Grice’s wife is a supply teacher who occasionally works at the school.
